mark, sounds good! Thanks for taking time to write. Last time I checked neither cable nor DSL were available here in the heart of Silicon Valley! That was last Spring. Maybe I should check again.

I agree, I have the same setup. However, one thing to note, if you have basic cable plus the cable modem (as I do, using satellite as well), the latter runs on a much higher frequency. Thus, during upgrades, a lock may inadvertently be put on your service, cutting you off. This happened to me, it was fixed, etc., but annoyed the heck out of me. Just more info that someone may find useful.
