Terry, its is the momentum and desire to keep abreast with whats hot today coupled with a lack of individual deep-down research.
One day LU will benefit from all that, not today. Thats why it pays to spread your bets among the strong players within a hot sector.

Wall street thinks that Cisco won the future Telecom equip. business as a result of Chambers speeches. If you can explain the rise of stocks like Ariel(ADSP) yesterday,(plain idiotic mob) you can explain Cisco valuation easily. Some people and money mangers are plain stupid. They do not understand the diff. between remote access and wireless. That gives opportunity for smart people to take advantage.

You can not explain the stock price of a given company in a given period, but over 5- 10 years, fundamentals will drive the valuations.

By next year this time wall street may not even remember who Cisco was. Cisco may become the biggest debacle of year 2000 unable to sell to telecom with rapid commoditization of the "old world routers" by various start ups.
