you must have missed the discussion. There was a whole bunch of discussion including several folks declaring the demise of Cisco due to Nortel's price cuts. The thread consensus was that competition was to be expected, but that since the price cuts only affected a small percentage of Cisco's business, margins wouldn't be substantially hurt.

In marketing 101, they tell you never compete on price alone because everyone loses. Cutting prices is always the last card to play. Nortel has played its last card in that segment. Like I said, a last gasp from a loser in the segment.
