I was merely going to point out that, unlike some others, the people at CATO were saying what they've been saying before they got their Microsoft money. For how many others is that true?

Furthermore, given their ideology, defending Microsoft is a "natural" for them, and, as might be expected, theirs is by far the most principled defense, indeed the only one of all the various rationales I have seen for defending Microsoft that makes any sense.

It would be interesting to trace out who is receiving Microsoft money, and how it has affected their positions on the lawsuit. I'd bet a lot more left liberals than you think are receiving Microsoft money.

The real questions are, (1) How many of them are going to sell out?, and (2) How long before the Microsoft employees who are making the contributions to the left liberal PACs and candidates figure out that it is their contributions that are keeping alive the ideology that is killing them?

I think the answers are: (1) none, and (2) never.

I agree that arguing with Regimond is a waste of time; I was merely trying to get his take on the pending break up, since I doubt he posts anything without asking permission and would never say anything to cross his beloved Microsoft. His shift on the breakup is interesting when viewed in that light. As you will recall, before he was saying that breaking up Microsoft would be a disaster and would never happen. Now he's saying the pieces would be worth $2 trillion.

As for John Dowd, after I saw your post mentioning him, just for kicks, I went over to the "How High" thread to see what he was saying. I kind of lost interest when he (or someone he agreed with, I forget which) compared Clinton's gun control policies to those of the Nazis.
