Being a successful investor is like being a successful doctor -- you need to have patience. As long as Dell continues to perform at the bottom line, the stock will have future upward price moves. You can't tell when they will be. It is best to buy a good company and be patient.

I speak from experience. My biggest mistakes have been not holding quality companies because I was afraid the market would not recognize them. Case in point -- and my biggest mistake (gulp!) -- selling QCOM in January because I was frustrated that the market would not recognize its value. Sale price was around $30, split adjusted. (INTCfan takes a brief break from writing and bangs head against wall.)

I really HATE to admit that mistake, but it serves a useful purpose if it keeps others from making similar mistakes with quality companies like Dell when they're in a flat period.
