Re: "Do you really believe it is impossible for AMD to show a profit in 99Q4 and a minimum 15% growth in qtr over qtr revenues, much of it occurring in the microprocessor division and more specifically directly attributable to the very warm reception by major players in the marketplace of the Athlon..."the better mousetrap at the better price"? "

Of course I believe it's possible, that was never the point. The point was that you had it as a foregone conclusion with Jerry and his cronies enshrined in the Business Hall of Fame before a penny of profit and based on mere speculation from a company who has told us the profits are just around the corner so many times that only a fool would believe them until we seen real evidence. That evidence may come, but your illusions of AMD grandure are premature and naive at best and foolish at worst. If you had been following this company for any length you'd understand the analogy with Lucy of Peanuts and the football. Year after year she has promised "this time it will be different" but Charlie always ends up falling on his butt. No personal offense intended but you're Charlie and Jerry's holding the football. Does this guarantee the outcome? No, but a view of the past is a good place to start when trying to predict the future. You should try it. BTW Athlon is the "almost as good mousetrap" at a lower price. Clearly AMD is selling below cost again in an attempt to start another price war. If Intel responds you guys will once again cry foul.

Re: "Can I assume that you own Jan, Apr. and leap puts, or is all of your AMD naysaying, just more "flapping in the breeze"?"

I have chosen a strategy of writing PUTs, not buying them as I never buy options. I post all my trades of AMD here in real time, not after the fact. I realize there are other strategies that may work with my forecast but this is the one I have chosen. You see I realize I may be wrong. If I am then selling PUTs will still work and buying them wouldn't. You should allow for the possibility that you too may be wrong. That's the whole objection I have to your posts.
