I have to agree with Lizzie. (Sorry, Lizzie.) Left and right don't mean politically what they once did. For example, I consider myself a mixture of classical liberialism and libertarianism, but others classify me, particularly as far as tax policies go, as right wing. Stepping back, I wonder what the point of your attempted classification is, anyhow? What are you actually trying to accomplish, who is your target audience, and what is the usefulness in classifying sites as left, centrist, or right? Some sites are clearly left wing by almost any definition -- the American Communist Party, Mother Jones, for examples -- but many others are more mixed. (For example, I have read classical liberal commentators who argue that opposing abortion is really a liberal position, and that abortion rights are only viewed as a liberal position because radical feminists forcibly grafted it into the liberal label in order to give it broader credence.) So basically, I guess my question is, what is the objective of your classification? Only when that is clear can we comment fairly on how what classifications are meaningful to your purpose and how classify particular sites. Keeping in mind that probably some sites should be listed under several classifications.
