I have definitely found this to be true. When I tell folks what I do for a living, "Invest in stocks,"(and if they show interest), "specifically internet stocks."

And in fact, almost everyone shows interest. And they ask for my advice (as if I'm some kind of professional, or something LOL)!

One recent advisee was a fellow soccer parent (a novelist <g>). She said her husband had always handled the investments (very conservative, csco, msft, etc), but she wanted to assume control, so she could start investing in the internets!

I told her that it sounded like her husband had done very well for the family and that he was investing in a way that allowed him to sleep at night. <g>
