Went to the Miami-Dallas game on Thanksgiving day. Ughhhh!! I'm starting to think that maybe I jinxed my Dolphins by showing up to my first ever pro football game, but I may have some answers as to what really happened:

1.) The short week really hurt. (ooops, can't use that one, because the Cowboys had a short week too)

2.) The stars weren't in the right alignment. (okay, okay, so I'm not an astronomer and I don't really know anything about star alignments, but it sounded good anyway)

Seriously though:

1.) Marino really wasn't 100%, practiced only 2 days and not playing in 6 weeks had a real effect on the game.

2.) Miami really didn't seem to fired up. Every time the defense trotted on or off the field, they were WALKING! They played well, but could have been better.

3.) No running game for Miami. Why did they suddenly give up on the running game early in the 4th quarter?

In summary, I think the best team did not win that game. Dallas has a descent enough defense, but it is not better than Miami's. Offensively, Miami had their chances. Who knows how the game would have turned out if Marino does not throw the first quarter INT in the endzone or Olindo Mare does not miss 3 field goals.

Next weeks game against Indianapolis should be interesting. Marino usually follows horrible performances with his best.

Here is something else. Is it an omen or what? Jimmy Johnson in his 4th year of programs:

University of Miami - National Championship
Dallas Cowboys - World Champs
Miami Dolphins - ?? this is year 4

Also: In 1993, guess who Jimmy Johnson lost to on Thanksgiving only to win out and win a second straight Super Bowl title? You guessed it, the Miami Dolphins.

I'm a big believer in fate.

In other words, this is one whacky season!!
