RE:"o This week there is big jump in Intel system advertisements,
especially in desktops - AMD 8 vs Intel 21"...

I noticed the same thing...
Does Intel match advertising money to the retailers like Best Buy, CC...?

Goutama

Just read your posts re pc availability in the Bay area. When I spoke to the CC salesperson earlier, he told me they have yet to see a 700 PIII, let alone the 733.

Having said that AMD is not exactly flush with 700's either....although with those the salesperson said he could get his hands on more.

Goutama,

<All desktops were higher than 400MHz!>

Actually well above 400 in most cases. As I noted a few days back, that has been my observation too!

Last quarter the speeds were pretty good except for 2 (if not more) clearance items. The HP 350s and Emachines 300s (I am not quite sure if it was 300 or 350 anymore). This quarter I don't see any such items.

One of the reasons I think the K6 ASPs could be substantially higher this Q.
