I have 3 accounts actually. Two are your typical one line brokers (Datek and Ameritrade) and the last is a local one and they are the ones with the most stringent requirements. I used it as an example of a stringent requirement, perhaps I should have made that clear. I almost never margin in this account. The other two (Datek and Ameritrade) are much more lenient in the margin requirements. I margin those accounts but won't do more than 75% at any given time. Just a safe precaution, I guess.
