C'mon, Elmer, the new cache wasn't. It was supposed to be part of the willamette/foster performance boost. Wasn't coppermine supposed to be a straight shrink?

Remember what a big surprise it was when coppermine ran faster/MHZ than Klamath? And that multi-month last minute delay after Athlon info started leaking out?

Somebody did a great job taking the front end from willamette/foster and grafting it onto coppermine in record time. But I'm not expecting as much of a jump from willamette/foster as before, and I suspect you aren't either.
