Agfa-Gevaert signs deal with GE Medical

BRUSSELS, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Belgian imaging company Agfa-Gevaert said it had signed a three-year deal with General Electric (NYSE:GE - news) unit GE Medical Systems (GEMS).

GEMS will market, sell and service Agfa-Gevaert's Compact and Solo computed radiography diagnostic systems under its own label.

``The GEMS distribution and service organisation gives us valuable reach into important geographic markets, driving continued growth and expansion of our computer radiography business,' John Glass, general manager of Agfa-Gevaert's medical division, said in a statement.

No financial details of the deal were given.

Computed radiography is a technology that captures X-rays digitally for display and storage.
