New Canadian Venture Exchange Created

On Friday afternoon, members of the Alberta Stock Exchange (ASE) and Vancouver
Stock Exchange (VSE) ratified the agreement to restructure the Canadian capital
marketplace and approved the merger of the ASE and VSE, culminating in the creation
of the new Canadian Venture Exchange (CDNX). At its helm is a new President and
Chief Executive Officer as well as a new Board of Directors.

"This is the first market restructuring of its kind in Canada's history," explains William
Hess, President and CEO of the Canadian Venture Exchange. "I am grateful for the
tremendous amount of goodwill shown by all participants to make this happen."

Joining Mr. Hess in setting the strategic direction for CDNX is a new Executive
Committee of the Board of Directors, appointed this morning at the Board's first meeting.
Dennis Burdett was named Chairman of the Board. Mr. Burdett is the Executive Vice
President of Canaccord Capital Corporation (Vancouver). Appointed Co-Vice Chairs are
Ian Brown, Managing Director and Executive Vice President of Goepel McDermid
Securities Inc. (Calgary), and Scott Paterson, Chairman and CEO of Yorkton Securities
Inc. (Toronto).

Other Executive Committee members are: Wiley Auch, CFO of FirstEnergy Capital
Corp. (Calgary); John Hagg, Chairman of the Board of Northstar Energy Corporation
(Calgary); Ken Hanna (Vancouver); Chris Lay, Director of Private Client Investments,
CIBC World Markets (Vancouver); Norman Thompson, President and CFO of Union
Securities (Vancouver); and, Deborah Weinstein, Partner of LaBarge Weinstein
(Ottawa).

Additional board members are: John Anderson, Chairman and CEO, Anderson
Exploration Ltd. (Calgary); Alain Auclair, Director of Investment Banking, Scotia Capital
Markets (St. Lambert); Ian Beddis, Vice President, RBC Dominion Securities Inc.

Monday, November 29, will mark CDNX's first day of operations. It denotes a significant
step in the overall Canadian capital market restructuring, first announced in March by
Canada's major stock exchanges. The Canadian Venture Exchange is the market for
emerging companies, the Toronto Stock Exchange will host senior equities and the
Montreal Exchange will focus on derivatives.

With the launch of CDNX, a wide range of information will be made available including:
the CDNX website, a detailed listed company database, a complete member roster and
corporate finance policies and procedures.
