Comments on Veridicom

"today announced that its fingerprint authentication technology has become the first and only biometrics solution chosen for IBM?s ThinkPad Proven(R) program."

The release doesn't say exclusive solution. It says "first and only". Isn't it obvious that if you are the first solution you are also the only solution? Given the relationship IDX hgas had with IBM in the past, I don't think we have seen the other shoe fall on this one yet.

"Only vendors that satisfy rigorous ThinkPad Compatibility Standards and meet or exceed specific customer support requirements are chosen to participate."

This implies that IDX has a chance to "meet or exceed specific customer support requirements" and by chosen to participate.

Pricing and Availability
Veridicom?s Personal Authentication System is available now through IBM?s ThinkPad Proven Sales site as well as directly through Veridicom at www.veridicom.com. Pricing for a complete Personal Authentication System ranges from $119 for a system with secure log-on and secure screen-saver functionality to $199 for a full-featured version with smart card support.

I will let David comment on pricing and features, but it appears that IDX is still cheaper.
