PB,

Re:"You are a tough read. Some days you acknowledge the benchmarks, the next day you call them fudged. You are not very consistant. I can understand changing one's mind in the face of new information, but your gyrations leave me stymied."

I have stated that I have been very impressed with the coppermine product. The integer performance is excellent. The floating point is also very good but quite a bit below Athlon levels. I am MOST impressed by Cumines small die size and its potential for increasing Intels profit margins while being relatively close to Athlon performance.

Independent Benchmarkers seem to consistently show that on an equivalent clock basis the Athlon is superior to Cumine.
And SPEC tests run without Intels "optimized prefetch" compiler also show dramatically lower scores.

In addition the Athlon becomes a compelling product when one considers its excellent performance when coupled with low cost slow SDRAM.

Now Elmer has run on these boards for several months denigrating AMD. Specifically he lambasted AMD's original SPEC scores and then shut up about it when they came out.

I recall a specific AMD 3d benchmark that AMD has "optimized" for its 3dNow. He is on this thread expounding about how AMD was lying about Athlon performance.

When Intel came out with the "optimized" SPEC scores he waxed poetic about how the Cumine had the fastest scores and was therefore the fastest CPU etc etc.

His behavior on this thread is HYPOCHRISY personified and idiotic in the extreme.

regards,

Kash
