Please let me know whether any of this makes sense:

1) About 3 weeks ago just before the CPQ & CableWireless deal was announced (actually when the cc was set and the other company was still unknown) I had heard rumors that the other company was CSCO and that it was going to be some joint relationship CPQ & CSCO. Obviously, the rumor of this cc being about CPQ & CSCO was wrong.

2) This morning on CNBC and in an article in the NY Times there has been discussions/reports about CSCO's new approach to wireless communications using the MMDS frequency band. The technology is meant to be a nonmobile, or fixed, wireless alternative to the telephone industry's high-speed digital phone lines and cable television industry's Internet modems. CSCO will brief analysts and reporters on Wednesday.

3) MC has consistantly stated that CPQ will be doing 'cool' stuff and wireless is an important focus.

NOW, does anyone believe that a possible close relationship is in the offing between CPQ & CSCO ?? Does it make sense in this case ?? Maybe rumor #1 above about a CPQ/CSCO relationship will now turn out to be true.

Just thinking

Michael
