Mike, Interesting, though I totally disagree that higher Japanese rates would hurt their stock market and economy. Higher rates are EXACTLY what a surplus savings nation needs to stimulate its economy. If the saver gets higher rates for retirement savings, they can then start spending a bit more of their paychecks. The problem is using analysis based upon the debtor American buyers and applying it to saving Japanese. As the robot in "Lost In Space" would say, that does not compute. <g>
