Consumer Confidence for Nov. = 135.8

November 30…The Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index, following four monthly declines in a row, leaped in November. The Index rose more than five points to 135.8 (1985=100), up from 130.5 in October.

The latest Index reading was driven by growing optimism about economic conditions over the next six months. The Expectations Index rose to 109.6 in November, up from 101.5 in October. The Present Situation Index advanced to 175.3, compared with 173.9 in October.

CHICAGO, Nov 30 (Reuters) - The Chicagoland Business Barometer fell to a seasonally adjusted 56.8 in November from 58.8 in October, the National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM)-Chicago said Tuesday.

An index below 50 signals a slowing manufacturing economy, while a reading above 50 suggests expansion.

The prices paid index jumped to 70.9 in November from 65.4 in October.
