Microprocessors 1998? -$200M?? (NOT Agilent)
->(loss leader to help Workstation biz look good)

Clarification perhaps?uProcessors were done by ICBD. It went under Bill Sullivan who is the Components Group VP now. HWP had two major fabs in Co and Oregon with labs in Bld 26. On the reorg and split, my neighbor across the street saw her process design job vanish so she got a job at Intel the next day. Perhaps you are right in that the old computer group was paying those bills rather than than ICBD.... but ICBD designed and fabed the uProcessors and ICBD was absorbed into the Components group... which is now Agilent. I am pretty sure of all this... but my memory fads fast as I celebrate 1 yr gone come Dec 1.

BIG reason to go to Intel is Computer Group could NOT justify the price of proprietary uP's if they had to foot the R&D bill themselves and they had to do that once ICBD want to a P/L center.
