Gary: I would hope that the buying is not all Palm related. I think the future of the systems business is bright. The way to compete in that business is to be able to buy the right startups (as Cisco is trying to do). COMS will have plenty of money going forward, and I think they've shown they can do a good job with it: Juniper, and the VoIP company in Andover MA are examples. By the way, I have heard that the analog modem business was great this past quarter because the competition was all hurt by the earthquake in Taiwan.

So what you're saying is that when a stock goes up, it could go back down. Unless of course the stock went up because it deserved to go up.

Thanks for the insight ;-)
Mike

Point is... nothing has changed except for the announcement of a PALM IPO - which is now getting closer and investor sentiment. Mehrdad's predictions of a great underlying company have yet to be born out... it may happen... but we still don't know.

I'll be the first to admit that "we don't know" (the future of any company). That being said, your statement that nothing has changed except for the announcement of the IPO is very blind! Where have you been? The IPO announcement is more real than a product announcement? I guess you would consider a split announcement a fundamental change in the company?
