New lows on the NYSE are really sick!

Yet, the Nasdaq powers on.

J.T. With the strong uptrend in technology, I'm thinking it might be better to select only part of the S&P 500 to short in a market downturn.

finance.yahoo.com

The biggest losers today were XLB, XLF, XLI and XLU. As soon as the market completes this little correction I think it might be best to go long QQQ or XLK. You pointed out the current weakness in banks and utilities. A lot of that weakness is counteracted now by strength in technology in the S&P 500. Any thoughts on this as a market strategy over the next 6 months? Thanks.

Peter

PIXR Update: PIXR closed at PIXR $42 and is now right above support of $41 1/2 previously mentioned.

This stock is Rodney Dangerfield of equities as it gets no respect and the shorts have a field day again and the longs capitulate...

Bottom line is this: any intraday trading action below 40 for me and I will buy more.

Why?

Jobs indicated PIXR will do *at least* 9 cents for the next quarter at October conference call and gave no guidance higher. It is already in the bank and we are going to have another blow-out quarter come late January. It will be the second quarter in a row of blow-out earnings.

Revenue stream from TS2 alone will carry this stock in 2000 "off year" with no movie. If it does blockbuster numvbers like Lion King, and TS2 is ahead of L.K. bennchmark, look for TS2 to bring in between $5.50 and $6 in earnings from this alone.

Pru and Seidler win the downgrade game again and look good in the eyes of clients. They will revise earnings targets upward shortly.

But I believe Robbie Stephens will issue out the first positive remarks and higher targets later this week.

At the very least, this stock has not acted the way I thought with box office bonanza. It is only a matter of a little more time and patience.

Best regards, J.T.
