Uncle Frank,

You know how I feel, but Cha2 says it better. Take some time, but keep it short. Consider the comments from Jill and Donna. Don't ponder on negatives. After a short break, we continue the process of learning in the most civil environment that I have found for discussion to date.

Best Regards,
Tom

ditto on Uncle Frank, We love you man and appreciate your efforts!

I find this thread the most enjoyable of the ones I participate in not only for the value of the discussion but because flaming is held to a minimum and the social discourse never gets too far out of hand. Even this discussion has been conducted with a minimum of rancor even while the personal feelings of many are being aired.

One of the things that strikes me about this discussion is that in the course of ordinary events, the most of comments that originally started this conversation would probably have not been responded to and the basic work of the group would continue with out having generated hard feeling. I would like to suggest that if one and all were less inclined to get their sensibilities bruised and that if we keep in mind why we are here, we all will be the better for it.

ThatDadGuy has a point, sometimes we are too quick to respond RTFM, then come back! However, when the thread consistently makes the "Hot List" the new comers often ask questions that have been discussed thoroughly and frequently. So, perhaps it is reasonable to ask them to familiarize them selves with out subject matter. We just need to find a way to do so without being so abrupt.

I have always thought that Uncle Frank has done a marvelous job of acknowledging new posters and trying to keep the conversation on point. Just think about many of the other threads you have read, where a frequent poster flames anyone that doesn't agree with his point or the discourse becomes so course that it is offensive. It hasn't happened here because of UF.

just my 2 cents,

Sunny
