In 1987 when interest rates shot up -- foreign investors moved their money from the stocks to the bonds. In 1999 & 2000 when interest rates shot up, foreign investors moved their money from non-techs and bonds to the tech leaders causing the Nasdaq composite to overshoot 5000 and the S&P to break 1500.
