I was away so I have just a tiny idea of what is going on here but...
One HAS to read "The Gorilla Game" to be able to talk about stocks being/not being gorillas.
I'm on my second reading, because too much of what I was saying was incongruent with the theme of the book!
It's worth it.

I agree 100% with LindyBill. I am myself basically a lurker who is placing more and more value in this thread. I do not contribute as of yet because I do not fully understand the complete concept. That is what many fail to understand. This is not a thread to ask for advice on a specific stock or to hype a stock w/o understanding the thread's purpose. Those who do so should be criticized and should go to that specific stock's thread for guidance.

The title of the thread is "Gorilla and King Portfolio Candidates". Before becoming a valued/regular poster, it is each individuals obligation to the thread to understand the concept first. That is why I have purchased the manual as well as the audio cassettes. The cassettes will hopefully give me the general concept, and the manual should reinforce and greaten my knowledge of GG. From there I know I will have more reading to do as well, and I hope I will be a regular and valued member sometime thereafter.

On a sidenote, I was the individual LindyBill compared himself to was referring to who has about 20 different techstocks as he/she did several years ago and is probably limiting my upside in a healthy market while keeping the downside risk.

First off, I was a bit upbeat in thinking I might be on the right track. After all, if LindyBill was a bit indecisive, and is now dialed into a great command over his portfolio and has found a system that works, I know I can too. That being said, I still felt an obligation to the thread and LindyBill to become more educated about what the concept of the thread is about before asking general self serving questions. In the future I will probably inquire more, but for now I need to read and absorb to get the full meaning of any views anyways.

It is not hard to figure out the LEADERS in here and whose brains the lurkers would like to pick; I think some just need to consider how many of these general posts the leaders get, make it a point of understanding the threads goals before offering general posts, and not being offended if a question is not answered at all or is not answered as they would have hoped.

Last, I would like to greatly thank LindyBill, Uncle Frank, Mike Buckley, and ALL of the valued members of this thread. For the first time in my life, I feel like I am developing a specific game plan, and we all know you need to have one of those to win !

Best Regards,
Bretsky
