I believe it was in the last conference call when Intel said they thought a lot of the growth in Asia was actually MP's manufactured and then shipped to Japan. So when judging the growth of the Asian market, you may be counting some sales twice when you count Japan PC sales growth.

A minor point. The indirect evidence is that worldwide sales are exceptional. If the other half of the good news, that the transition to .18 is lowering unit cost, is still *working*, Intel should come in at the high end or above current expectations.

As for the stock price, as usual any excuse will do, to sell Intel. Today it seems to be AMD's bluster. It is funny to see the AMD folks giving us a hard time about AMD up/INTC down. Investing in a loser, I guess, can lower the threshold for exuberance.
