Congratulations to Mr. Bruce J. Crowley, Mr. Graig Ulman, Mr. Bill Samuels and all at ACTV that contributed to the first successful launch of ACTV's HyperTV technology!

This technology is the most robust that has been demonstrated to date and has reached households across the world without a glitch!

Way to go BABY!

Shag ME!

Rock ON!

Art:

Mike, I know you are a very decent human being, but I truly believe you could find something wrong and do, with most of the things you come across in life.

If you want to resort to ad hominem attacks (I say something you don't like, thus I must be personally flamed) the least you could do is resort to private messages so you don't clutter the entire thread with your drivel.

You have never liked it when I have reported facts that have disagreed with your opinions. This goes back to the problems with the executive compensation (which caused you yourself to say only negative things about the company and its directors for a week and some, not that long ago). Of course, you never had problems when I used facts to dispute the negative claims of posters like Champolion.

Fact: A CEO of an internet company reported on 60 minutes, a national program broadcast by a major network, that 50% of users who come to web sites asking for personal information exit the site rather than continue.
Fact: Same CEO said that 25% of users who come to web sites asking for personal information lie in order to continue.

[he may have had his numbers wrong, sure, but the fact is that he reported these numbers.]

Fact: Assuming his numbers are correct, the math then says that, of the information that HyperTV does get, half of it will be bogus. [25% of people submit false info, 25% of people submit accurate info]

Opinion: HyperTV should rethink how it gathers personal information, only gathering what is truly needed (they don't need my name and address until I order something) so that they don't turn away potential customers, and so that the information they do get is accurate which will mean better ad targeting which will mean more revenue.

I don't see why that opinion deserves a flame. As for my frustrations signing on, it was really darn annoying because I'd looked forward to it for a while. HyperTV is in trouble if 50% of the potential users exit the site because of the personal information, and then a large percentage of those who continue on cannot actually connect. We don't want to be in a situation where a person has a bad experience and then sees another HyperTV ad and says to themself "what a piece of garbage." We need mindshare and marketshare in order to succeed.
