hi ed ... your cost basis is $ 104K, in jan00 you will sell them for $ 200K, profit $ 96k or 93% for 6 months. peter lynch will envy you!! practice what you preach: when the stock is overbought, buy puts and sell calls. when stock is oversold, sell puts and buy calls. cmgi is currently overbought, reached new high but did not hold. i would buy back that 10 puts @ $ 2/sh, and wait for a dip to sell 20 jan00 puts at higher strike price. this will soften the blow for having your stock called away. i will not roll that call because they will tie up your assets not being able to sell cmgi to move to other excellent stock like jds uniphase. as a general rule, i do not roll calls. if my game plan is willing to get the stock called away, why would i change my plan when that time comes? y2k problem? we will see that second half of december. it is more psychological than real. fund managers will face redemptions because many people want to "play it safe". the money will flow back second half of january when people realize no big deal. altavista ipo will not happen in earlier than february. so say ariverdeci to cmgi, your game is almost over with you winning a big pot. i would move on to the next investment. best regards, paul
