Wow, Brian, you must be serious to spend the time laying that conduit. If you live in a stony soil area (like here in New England), that was a task from hell!

Depending on where you live, you might have another option besides Mediaone and T. More cable is going to be laid real soon from Boston to somewhere is Georgia. I'm pretty sure it is for Sprint but my source is the State policeman standing at the bottom of my drive when the surveyers came through in July. Williams Company is laying the cable. I got all excited and told the police man it was about time we had the cable out here.

The surveyer turned towards me and said the cable was being laid through this area but was not going to provide any services to us. I was disappointed, but I'd much rather contribute to CSCO's bottom line than some cable company--or DirectTV (now that they have taken over PrimeStar), which is dangling the possibility of some kind of high speed internet access "in the future."
