X-JOE-O,

Earlier today (up until about 6 PM) I too was connected via T1s which connect to UUNET via T3s in an adjacent building in a virtual campus of one of my clients where my staff occupies office space. My performance was not at all zippy, but then I don't know what the in-house LAN utilization / congestion was like at the time. At one time, not too long ago, large enterprises with LANS attached to T1s were almost guaranteed to get excellent response times. Not so anymore, at least not with the same predictability, to the extent that it once was. Sometimes I find myself logging off the desktop unit that is attached to the LAN/T1 and firing up the laptop so that I can access the 'net at modem speeds, instead. No kidding, it gets that clogged up at the gateways at times that I'm better off with a modem connection by hpassing the fat pipe assemblies, and connecting directly to my ISP over POTS.

It's getting late. If this persists tomorrow I may ask for traceroutes and pings from around the country to have a set of numbers for comparison purposes. Maybe if the "weather" is inclement tomorrow, as it was today, we'll have cause to go out and play. Later, Frank

OT:
Slowness is site/internet related, I'm on 1.5sDSL with no problems all night on SI and RB (also in the business, so have an intimate understanding of this topic). IMHO.
