I'm not sure what to make of this. It seems like quite a leap to go from the Sequent technology to claims of breathing new life into the RS/6000, AS/400, and S/390 lines.

JMHO, of course.

Arcadia in 75 mln stg IT deal with IBM

November 30, 1999 06:25 AM
LONDON, Nov 30 (Reuters) - British clothing retailer Arcadia Group said on Tuesday it had signed an IT outsourcing deal with IBM IBM valued at 75 million pounds over 10 years.

The agreement is for direct management and support of Arcadia's 5,000 sales terminals at its 2,000 stores and 600 concessions in Britain and Ireland.

Arcadia, Britain's second largest clothing retailer, said it expected the agreement to lead to cost efficiencies of more than one million pounds per year.

It will involve the transfer of around 50 staff to IBM. No redundancies are expected.
