el., reposting comments from Mehrdad is a waste of time. Mehrdad has less a clue about what going on in the technology space than most on SI. To say that CSCO has gotten where it is because there was no competition is a unsupportable argument. Do the research... you know as well as I there was plenty of competition..not to mention Mehrdad's own beloved 3COM. As for today's challenges - they are formidable but I think CSCO has the wherewithall to take them on and should market share be lost in the traditional router space CSCO is expected to make it up in new telephony and services markets.
