Mike,

I may not believe in TL, EV or the Austrian School, but I am a UNIX junkie for starters, and nurture a soft corner for Open Source s/w as well. :-)

TBH, though, I will take Solaris over Linux any day, when it comes to supporting a terrabyte database. Now, when it comes to Linux vs. Win2K, the choice seems simple to me. Heck, even the price vs. total cost of ownership arguments is not relevant, as Linux is free and with a (rumored) lower TCO (I am not certain that this is true, so take it as a conjecture from one with an obvious bias).
