Yes, indeed. We went early, by the "scenic route", to my mother's, and left from there for a motel right outside of Richmond. In the morning, we drove the last lap to Williamsburg, and spent about 8 hours visiting houses and businesses in the historic area, getting lunch, going to a show of 18th century pop music, and looking through a museum of decorative art, and especially an exhibit dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Williamsburg. On Saturday, we toured some more shops, and spent quite awhile in a folk art museum, one of the finest I have ever seen, with an exquisite collection of commercial signs, wooden statues, weathervanes, and dollhouses, among other things. After a rest and dinner, we attending an evening performance intended to recreate the traveling variety shows of the period. On Sunday we were quite tired, and decided to go home early, although we stopped by my mother's on the way back to Annapolis. The weather was almost perfect (some rain Friday evening), and Williamsburg is full of interest, and so it was a very successful venture. How about you?
