We've just had the Y2K non-event rally. Everyone has already been convinced that Y2K is a dud and has jumped in the pool already. That's why I think the correction comes in January. Are you prepared for the post Y2K rally if it turns out to be a non-event?

This may shock you but I think Y2K disruptions, if any, will be a complete non-event. If anything, Y2K related preparations have already disrupted the economy enormously. I for one expect the post Y2K slump in hightech spending. As with the DOW making a new high, why bother with the rummy index DOW? If they had known about the possible upshot for QCOM, they should have included QCOM instead of SBC on Nov 1st.

BGR, the Dow is about 350 points away from a new high... i believe the post Y2K rally has already taken place...pre-Y2K. apparently there is a great deal of conviction that it will be a non-event and thus quite naturally result in another wild rally. i don't quite see what i need to be prepared for...i'll assess the situation once we get there. hb
