Don, Most, if not all, companies with employee option programs also have an ongoing share repurchase program. Since the two are somewhat tied together, it is only natural that any proceeds received from the option plans be used to offset as much as possible the cost of buying back stock and the dilution of EPS.

I can't say that all companies follow the procedures that I outlined, but they could and should.

AS far as double counting, I'm not sure what you mean. Any cash received from any source goes into the corporate coffers.
