I read the Red Herring article, and was somewhat surprised by the following quote:

With Brocade emerging as the market leader at a time when the market is starting to accelerate, Mr. Johnson believes it will be difficult for its competitors to catch up -- thus giving Brocade "gorilla" status

No mention of IP, high switching costs, simply a focus on market share. Seems like we have higher gorilla standards on this thread.
