If you really like a weird looking computer with Intel chip, try a Sony VAIO 505 -- magnesium case and lavender external hinge battery -- less than 1" thick, Celeron 333, 6.4 GB, 64 MB) 2.7 pounds, a lady-like keyboard and bundled floppy drive. SONY pressures its retailers to sell at list price (about 1699 - 2500) but etailers offer wonderful discounts. I paid including shipping 1450 after an undisclosed $100 rebate and 2500 fflyer miles (eCOST). You really need a top of the line with external CDROM drive because all the software back up (Windows 98, Works, Word, etc. is on CDROM. It is available locally for about $100 more. This is a wonderful computer. A beautiful 10" display.
