I'm going to check out the DISH system. The people I know who have been shifted to DirectTV from PrimeStar are not very happy. For the same programing they received with PrimeStar, the monthly cost has gone up, even though we have been told it would not. The monthly programming guide that was free with PrimeStar now has to be ordered for an addition $40/year. Unlike the PrimeStar box, which has controls to turn the set off/on and channels and volume up or down (if on misplaces the remote control or has the batteries die late some night), the DirectTV box can only be used with a remote control--its a plain, no control box.

Unfortunately, everyone I know has either PrimeStar or now, DirectTV. No DISH people.
