I agree that too many problems are getting diagnosed as "organic", that one should not confuse the palliative benefits of certain drugs with cures, and that people are generally too quick with a psychiatric diagnosis, when the problem's are real and addressable. I have known parents who treated their child as a hobby they had tired of, and when she started behaving resentfully, instead of self- examination, they took her to a psychiatrist. It is disgraceful.....
