...........Thanks for the great link! That poster brings up a lot of interesting points, a couple of which I would like to expound upon:

Re:Rambus...not only has the new technology...they have a virtual monopoly on it through a series of US Patents.

Has anyone ever found out any conclusive information that DDR and its iterations do not infringe on any of RAMBUS' patents? (Specifically DATA on BOTH sides of the clock - I beliieve this is where there is a major question of infringement).

Re:Winbench tests showed that RDRAM-based PCs blow away computers with competing types of DRAM when it comes to applications that require large amounts of data to be transferred from the PC's DRAM to its microprocessor in a short amount of time,...

I have personally seen a HP PC800 RAMBUS Kayak (840 chipset) transfer a 1130MB block of data (utilizing a Sap3 Database program) to a HPUX mainframe in just under 37% of the time it took the same HP Kayak with SDRAM! All other things were equal - TALK ABOUT HIGH SPEED STREAMING DATA - WOW!

I personally think STAURT STEELE is one smart fellow, and like him, I am holding on for the big payout in 18 to 24 months.

Salude - Norman.
