Your questions seemed reasonable to me.
The shorts were correct that this stock was (and is) overvalued at $13, however, being right does not matter as many of the shorts @ $13 were forced to cover at a price 100% to 300% above their short position.

The real Pro's shorted after the amatuer shorts drove this POS to $50+

It is impossible to short illegally, the client bears no responsibility in making or determining a short is legal..Provided he states he is making a short sale.
