Chuck, <If you say I am wrong on this count, i will shut up and wait for 800 volumes to show up in sooner than Feb.>

I've been thinking a little these days, and I think it'd be better for us (PB and I) to shut-up and wait for the volumes of 800 MHz parts to show up sooner than February, rather than make you shut-up about it.

All I can say is that you've been proven wrong before, Chuck, and you will most likely be proven wrong again. Hopefully by then, you'll recognize that even "inside sources" can be way off-the-mark.

RE:"How can it be stabbing if this guys are obvioulsy feeding me crap? There
is not much of ethics involved here. Companies routniely don't tell bad
news to stockholders until it is too late"...

I hear that in some cases, the Employees are the last to know.

BTW, just because an Employee sees a bunch of wafers heading out the door doesn't mean yields and binsplits and final testing are in the bag....

rE: "The current binsplits at 800MHz are non existant and it needs an additional stepping to get 800s in to production and it will take Feb/March time frame to get volumes on that speed grade."

What do you mean by an "additional stepping"? Is this just Intel speak for shooting the gates smaller? My guess on Intel's release schedule has been: (barring any Athlon interference)
Nov 1 733MHz
Feb 1 800MHz
May 1 867MHz
Aug 1 933MHz
Oct 1 1000MHz (Wilamette)
Could you give your guess on Intel's release schedule as well as AMDs ??

just curious,
