Hey twister, it's just that I've been trained so well! I mean, after all these years of hearing about Windows 5/2000/whatever and 64-way Merceds and SGI machines getting ready to eat Sun's lunch, I must have just subconsciously assimilated the idea that it's ok to talk about vapor as though it were real!<g>

I think in terms of magnitude, there's a little bit of a difference. The Star Office Mac project isn't a moon shot. It's neither a vague concept, nor a 40-million line O/S revision, nor a 12-million transistor processor with an untried architecture. It's an update of an existing applications suite that alreay runs on the Mac but that's a few revisions behind the releases for other platforms. Not a start-from-scratch job. Maybe it will take 9 months or a year. So what? If it happens in anything like that time frame, anyone running a large, heterogeneous University computing establishment is going to be looking at it, and that's a fact.

Regards,
