Poet,

You've got my hand raised in favor of your new thread.

I would enjoy and learn from a separate thread that discusses options and LEAPS with regard to Gorillas. I'll probably pay a lot more attention to the LEAPS but I think LEAPS and options are a good fit on the same thread. I still feel discussing them on this thread on a regular basis will dilute the quality of the thread.

By the way, I do own some LEAPS calls in Qualcomm that expire in 2002 but you're right that I consider them short-term strategies. I thought that when I bought them about six months ago. :)

I'd like to chime in on the options question. I don't see their discussion out of place here (any more than dancing...no offense to Lindy...or various other comments and discussions). I have used both put and call options with Gorilla stocks, to good and bad effects. For example, I've sold a number of GMST puts over the past few months that greatly decreased my cost basis (on one occasion the stock was put to me, on the others they expired and I kept the premiums). I tried the same strategy with QCOM, with the HOPE of having some shares put to me, and the stock ran away (I kept the premiums as a consolation prize). I have learned from these experiences, and would like to hear other's experiences to learn from their's. If one is not interested in the option questions, they can scroll on past (as I tend to do when the technospeak gets a little heavy for my simple brain!).

I'd hate to have to monitor yet ANOTHER thread! (I don't imagine that the option posts would get that frequent here...I think its just a nice OPTION to have!)

Jeff

p.s. Didn't our leader Frank trade LEAPS on Gorillas?

Hi Poet,

I would be interested in seeing a thread devoted to options trading for gorilla gamers....LEAPS are of the greatest interest to me. I would probably be mostly in "lurk & learn" mode, but would certainly appreciate a thread. Please post the link here if you and Jill go ahead with it.

Thanks!

Poet,
My vote regarding options and position trading is to take it to a different thread. I may well read all the posts on such a thread and I think the learning opportunity is immense. But, I understand this thread to be more involved with evaluating companies than discussing trading strategies.

JMHO.
