Puma Technology Partners With Intuwave to Develop Data Synchronization Products for the Next Generation of Wireless Devices
Puma and Intuwave to Add Support for Symbian's EPOC Platform Across Product Line
SAN JOSE, Calif. and LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 2, 1999-- Puma Technology (Nasdaq:PUMA - news), a leading provider of mobile device management and synchronization software, and Intuwave, a provider of innovative wireless data services and applications, today announced a strategic partnership to develop products for the next generation of wireless smart phones and communicators.
Intuwave will begin by adding support for Symbian's EPOC platform across Puma's product line, including Intellisync®, Intellisync Anywhere(TM) and Satellite Forms(TM) software. Moving forward, Puma and Intuwave will work together to provide highly scalable data services for wireless subscribers. Puma's synchronization technology is already behind many of the most popular Internet contacts and calendar synchronization portals, including Jump! Networks/Microsoft, PlanetAll.com (and Amazon.com Company), When.com/AOL, Visto and eCal.

The new versions of Puma products will allow users of devices based on Symbian's EPOC platform to synchronize databases and calendars with many popular PIM applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes and Organizer, and Symantec ACT!, either with their desktop PC or over a wireless link directly to corporate servers (Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange, SQL database).
This development also brings Satellite Forms, a rapid application development tool already successful for 3Com's Palm Computing® connected organizers, to the EPOC platform, providing a low-cost, high-speed platform for enterprise developers wishing to create mobile data-access applications.
