Oh dear. I've never liked Harmon to start with. His "better than EBAY" line is the worst sort of hype, particularly when it happens before I own the stock. Now every Beanie Baby collector in the country is going to want in on this. This type of thing not only results in a lot of people throwing money at a very unstable rapidly moving target come the first day of trading, it also blinds everyone to the real value that the company represents. Ironically, this is what happens when you have a freemarket! Perhaps our only hope is that the 'daq will continue to crumble and make people less willing to pour money in, especially with the holiday season (not to mention Y2K) so close..

The only way to get IPO shares cheaply these days is to start your own company and take it public.

Forbes article about IPO quiet periods and the way some companies workaround them.

"Silence Isn't Golden"

(Doesn't mention FMKT)

Had to post this on the AKAM board (market cap almost $20 billion as of today's close).

Refreshingly, there has been a complete absence of hype from Freemarkets themselves.
