BetaResearch and MoreCom Partner On Broadband Internet Based On the d-box Network

MUNICH, Germany and HORSHAM, Pa.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Dec. 1, 1999-- BetaResearch and MoreCom have agreed on a strategic partnership to develop broadband Internet products and services on the d-box network(TM).

By making an investment in MoreCom, BetaResearch has underscored the importance it attaches to this significant partner. Further developments based on products from MoreCom will significantly accelerate the development of multimedia applications on the d-box network(TM).

"This move ensures the full convergence of TV and Internet - an entertainment medium and an information medium - to form a new, interactive multimedia program. The new medium will be more than the sum of its component parts and will pave the way to new kinds of content," says Gabor Toth, Managing Director at BetaResearch.

MoreCom's products, such as MoreCaster(TM) (data carousel server), MoreAccess(TM) (two-way IP over MPEG server), and MoreManage(TM) (Internet service management server), lay the foundation for developments at the head-end. MoreCom is also working with BetaResearch on the client software for the set-top box.
