Looks like we are next on the list. Comcast and Telllabs (just smaller than us) are also in the S&P...Just a matter of time.

It will be interesting to see how Yahoo trades until it gets added. Since the 500 is based on market cap--when a stock with such a large capitilazation such as Yahoo gets added, it should provide a strong move upward. One of the companies that got added today (MOLX) gained 7 1/2 to a close of 50 1/2. My guess would be that larger companies such as Yahoo and JDSU would move up in a bigger way.

S and P seems make one announcement per week regarding any additions. If we are next, then this stock is not a good short candidate if one is a smart trader. The risk of a huge move upward makes shorting JDSU a a bad idea. Consequently, the Yahoo news might be good news for JDSU stock price even in the short term (ie. 1 week).
