Hal,

I understand the frustration of being blind. Been there and done that. Today, or anytime since I started using QC, I never lost my real time data. I was having holes in my downloaded intraday data.

But if I did lose my quotes, I have another "backup" quote system since this is my livelihood. It uses a different quote vendor. Interquote which uses PC Quote. QC uses S&P Comstock. The odds of both failing at the same time is about the same as all three ISP's or modems failing at the same time.

Sorry you are having continual problems. I might offer this idea (which may or may not help). Minimize the number of symbols and charts open on your desktop at one time. Each symbol uses bandwidth as does each separate chart. I am a fanatic about not keeping open more than I need. It's not that hard to open when I need it. This way I use as little bandwidth as possible. This may be part of the reason that I don't have delays or outages. I've seen workspaces of several other traders who use 5 times as many open symbols and charts as I do. That may contribute to problems in an "iffy" day on a server. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Matt
